More on EVENTS: Our neighborhood has been asked to join the Aquatennial parade this summer! We are eligible for some funding for a float or ? open to suggestions. This would be a great opportunity for U of MN students and/or other neighborhood institutions like schools to participate. The parade is in mid-late July -more details at the meeting.
Our Fourth of July Parade will be bigger than usual this year due to the Grand Excursion celebration occurring in the Twin Cities. There are plans for a “co-mingling of the waters” that day and many dignitaries, along with much press, are expected as part of our parade. We have time to plan something unique – but we need volunteers to design and execute. All ideas are welcome. Contact the office 379-3814 if you can’t make Tuesday’s meeting. Or email us at: mhna@pro-ns.net.
Other events to consider- Mid May River Clean-Up (Are we still interested in this?)
- Some type of fund raiser
- Early June Gardeners’ Pot Luck & Plant Swap
- A general meet & greet social event
Your ideas and input welcome at the Jan 20 meeting.
