Remember to check out our website at www.marcy-holmes.org And to reach us via email: mhna@pro-ns.net *The Mpls Park and Rec Board wishes to develop a comprehensive management plan for the Upper Mississippi River Gorge in Minneapolis, on both sides of the river from 29th St. to St Anthony Falls. This will include an assessment of existing master plans, inventory and mapping of all existing natural areas, developing vegetation management strategies and site-specific restoration plans, and identifying interpretive opportunities. The resulting plan will include citizen participation, use the best scientific knowledge, focus on sustainability, establish long-term goals for desired ecosystem conditions and propose solutions that support economic prosperity, lasting livelihoods and ecological health. The project time line is from July 2001 – Oct. 2002. MHNA. PPERRIA and Seward neighborhood groups are to be involved. Our contribution is to host neighborhood meetings and work w/ MPRB to develop management proposals.

We are being asked to send a letter of support for the project . Must decide at the Feb. 2001 board meeting
